Advice on how to choose a book
by slimboyfat ini love books; i always have.
they are my life and my livelihood.
and many jehovah's witnesses, when they leave the religion, they think to themselves, "i'd like to read a book".

I like almost any book on evolution particularly the evolutionary-psychology ones. -

Courtesy Towards Senior Bicyclists, or First Time Riding in 45 Years!
by compound complex ingreetings, fellow posters:.
i bought a nearly new 7-speed bicycle at a yard sale for $30 last weekend and took it out this morning on our paved local bicycle/walking trail.
the last time i rode was in my early- to mid- twenties when i used a bicycle to get to and from the kh for my pioneer service.

We all lose our sense of balance when we get old. This is what I ride:
Unlike other three wheelers a recumbent bike handles like a car. It could be easily accessorized with all the bells and whistles including a canopy to block sun and rain. It also stands out, making it a little safer than conventional bikes. It's a bit pricey though.

steve2,
BTW, in New Zealand, there is an increasing trend towards unigender restrooms so it is not an issue.
By unigender do you mean restrooms for more than one occupant?

Why not keep it simple and build single occupant restrooms? -

45 Minute Bethel Video about Changes (downsizing) at Watchtower
by OnTheWayOut ini don't see this posted elsewhere, and i don't have the links besides this facebook one.. but here is a 45-minute long bethel talk about the changes at bethel including addressing the hard feelings of people who were given the axe.
basically, everything must change.
we gave remaining bethelites saturday off to do our bidding in "the field" and we give bethelites over 70 an extra day a week off (if you can find any such bethelites).

They will have to go on food stamps and find themselves a nice warm blanket or two to soften up the concrete sidewalk. -

Christopher George is the person who decides what jobs are needed at Bethel and who should fill them. He has been doing that for almost 30 years. He wouldn't have to worry about being kicked out. He is the one actually deciding who gets kicked out. The company hatchet man. -

Beliefs About What Caused the Universe
by Perry inthe universe can be observed to be expanding.. an expanding universe must have had a beginning.
whatever begins to exist had a cause.
therefore the universe had a cause.

We would need to have a 4 or more dimensional mind to wrap our thoughts around this subject. -

I'm getting baptized
by BlackWolf ini know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

Update on my recently disfellowshipped niece
by keyser soze ini had posted about a month ago that my niece, who just turned 15, was getting disfellowshipped.
i learned this past weekend that she tried to commit suicide.
between being df'd, and her dad not being around, it became too much for her.

Sorry to hear about your niece but the fact that she's making plans for the future shows that she wants to live.
Keep encouraging her in her plans.
